Health Benefits of Vaping (Dry)
Vaporizing – or vaping – has been around since the first design for a portable vaporizer for dry herbs was invented in 1994. It is only in the past few years that this practice has enjoyed widespread popularity.
This popularity increase has a lot to do with the health benefits of vaping your dry herbs over combusting (smoking) them. Many studies have been undertaken to demonstrate the medical advantages of vaping over smoking and the Volcano Medic is one of them.
The Volcano Medic received its Medical Device Licence in Canada in 2010 and it’s helpful to understand the scientific and medical reasons for this approval.
The following points will help you understand the differences between smoking and vaping:
When plant matter is combusted pyrolytic byproducts are produced. The name for this easily identifiable substance is resin (aka tar). That black residue forms on anything that comes in contact with the hot smoke, including your lungs.
Vaporizing negates this process by heating the plant matter to temperatures below the point of combustion while still activating the THC and CBD contained within the plant.
A way to compare the two is this: Combustion is campfire cooking; Vaporizing is convection oven cooking. Your meal will be cooked either way, but there's a noticeable difference in the outcome.
Due to this difference, users of vaporizers were found to have better respiratory health than those who used combustion methods with the same plant matter.
What this means is you won't get those nasty coughs, wheezing or shortness of breath if your main method of consumption is with a vaporizer.
So next time you're looking for a new piece to add to your collection, help your lungs out and add a vaporizer.
They're not just for medical users after all, recreational users have to keep healthy too!
